Initial Setup and Recovery Seed
Before your first login, initial setup is crucial. Upon unboxing your Trezor, you will connect it to Trezor Suite (app.trezor.io or the desktop app). The device will generate a unique 24-word recovery seed phrase. You must write this down physically and store it offline. This seed is your ultimate backup; it is your wallet. Anyone with these words can access your funds. The device will then prompt you to set a strong PIN for future logins, adding the first layer of physical protection.
The Standard Login Procedure
For daily access, follow these steps: 1) Connect your Trezor to your computer. 2) Open the Trezor Suite application. 3) The Suite will detect your device and prompt for your PIN. 4) Enter your PIN directly on the Trezor device's screen, using the randomized keypad to thwart surveillance. Once the correct PIN is entered, Trezor Suite will fully load, displaying your portfolio, transaction history, and allowing you to manage your assets. There is no cloud-based password; the device itself is your credential.
Troubleshooting Common Login Issues
If you cannot log in, first ensure you are using the official Trezor Suite site/app to avoid phishing scams. Check your USB cable and port, and try restarting both the device and Suite. If the PIN is forgotten, do not attempt guesses. The Trezor wipes itself after too many incorrect entries to prevent brute-force attacks. Your only recourse is to perform a device recovery using your written 24-word seed phrase. This process restores your wallet and lets you set a new PIN, underscoring the indispensable importance of safeguarding your recovery seed.
